Welcome to Hannahston Alpacas, Ayrshire

It was fate that my parents, Ian and Angela, went to look at tractors one day and returned home with four alpacas. They purchased their first four Sophia, Metisha, Miss Hazelnut and La Di Da. I’m not sure how it happened, but it’s been almost 12 years and we now have more than 75.

They fell in love with these friendly, inquisitive, furry babies who are a part of our family. It all started as a hobby, then they started showing, working with genetics to breed the best show team. They have won lots of sashes, trophies and championships, but we are working towards the Supreme Champion at National Show (maybe one day). Birthing time is my parents’ favourite time. I recently joined the business working on the alpaca experiences and love them as much as my mum and dad!

They have changed all our lives for the better and couldn’t imagine life without them in it.

Alpaca Treks

Treks & Visits

My love for alpacasΒ beganΒ someΒ years after myΒ parentsΒ love for them,Β after returningΒ homeΒ to the farm. MyΒ mother and fatherΒ noticedΒ this andΒ giftedΒ me 14 alpacas forΒ trekking. I got my field, shelter and new harnesses and worked with my parents to learn everything about them. I started trekking and private experiences and I’ve never looked back. I never imagined it would lead to where it is today in such a short time.

Breeding

At Hannahston Alpacas, we work with genetics to produce quality alpacas.
